Serial device servers for Ethernet

NPort servers from Moxa allow connection of devices with a serial interface (RS232/422/485) in TCP/IP networks, for transmission of serial data over a local network or via the Internet with no restriction on the distance. Serial devices such as measuring instruments, barcode readers, label printers, and so on, can thus be centrally controlled and evaluated from any location. Thanks to the various operating modes, NPort servers can be used for virtually all serial applications:

• Real COM mode: In order to obtain computer access to the interfaces of the NPort server, driver software under Windows/Linux is used to set up virtual COM/TTY ports. This allows existing applications to be used for the serial communications.
• Socket modes: TCP-Server/-Client, UDP-Server/-Client
