Toroid cores of iron powder are used as RF-inductances, pulse transformers and filter chokes for frequencies up to 200 MHz. Iron powder cores have higher saturation flow density that ferrite cores (appr. 1.5 T) which is an advantage when one has high direct current or high alternating current under 50 kHz. They are also more temperature and frequency stable and give high Q-values which makes them suitable in all frequency determining applications. Material -26 is specially suited as a filter choke as the cores give a low Q-value that helps to attenuate high frequency interference.
